Crafted from our proprietary Nine Lives™ material, this bait features an extraordinary combination of softness, stretch, and strength. Great quality product . Caught. Today using the smaller ones.
The large ones unfortunately will not stay up against the hook eye head each time we used them it came back up with the body 1/2 inch away from the head .
Thank you for your kind review! I think the information listed below will help you with the material sliding: With the 8' there's so much material and it's so stretchy that you need to put the hook back a little farther than you would with a standard bait. The bend of the hook will help hold it forward. If you take them off the head, move the hook a little farther back then that will fix the problem. Whatever your gap is, add about that same distance to the hook depth. For example if you're halfway down the hook slot and you've got a 1/2' gap then make your hook exit point 1/2' closer to the tail of the bait. It might look like the bait has a little hump in it but once it starts swimming it will work correctly.
While this next step shouldn't be necessary, if for whatever reason you can't get it to stay, you can take some of the material and use a hook to pull the material over the eye of the jig head and that will hold it. When you're done with your day of fishing take it off the eye and you can use that same bot of material multiple trips. We use this method a lot with people who have a specific jig head they like to use if it is not barbed. We call it the 'overbite' It doesn't affect the action but keeps the bait in place extremely well.
Give that a try and let me know how it works out for you. If you have any more problems please don't hesitate to reach out, we want you to have an outstanding experience with our products and we are always here to help!
I’m excited that I got the 8” swimbaits for Alaska in May 2025 and I can’t wait to put them to the test with the lingcods and halibuts. I will update my review once we use the baits
